It is understood that the BeiDou system is a global satellite navigation system that is independently researched, developed, and operated by China. It possesses the global service capabilities of positioning, navigation, and timing, playing a significant supportive role for national security, economic development, and the lives of the people. The year 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the BeiDou satellite navigation system's project initiation. After 30 years of development, the BeiDou system has not only become a representative of China's independent innovation technology but has also secured an important position in the global satellite navigation field.
As the largest BeiDou industry cluster in the central region, Wuhan has listed the BeiDou industry as one of the five key industries for breakthrough development. In 2023, Wuhan's BeiDou industry scale reached 56 billion yuan, with a 40% increase, gathering more than 302 related enterprises, including 22 "Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative 'Little Giant'" enterprises, 5 listed companies, and 4 of the top 100 national geographic information enterprises, forming a relatively complete BeiDou industrial chain.

Tang Chao, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee and director of the Management Committee of Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, stated that in the future, Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone will take the integrated development of "BeiDou+" as its direction, accelerate the construction of the BeiDou industry ecosystem, promote the extensive application of the BeiDou system in fields such as intelligent connected vehicles and low-altitude economy, and build Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone into a pioneer area for the large-scale application of BeiDou vehicles in the country and a highland for the development of the BeiDou industry in the province.
